I create paintings in varied subject matter, and oil paint is my preferred medium, although I do use acrylic paint and watercolour depending on what I wish to express. I enjoy demonstrating the effecfts that paint can create, for example reflections in glass, or textures in fabric. This is a source of fascination.

 

The traditions and history of painting are consciously included in my work, and are key to the images I make. The realism and jewel like colours of the Northern Renaissance are an influence. I would also cite the work of several artists: Gerhard Richter, Jonathen Yeo and Chuck close are amongst those I admire
